• We are a Native American family-owned sheep ranch and glamping hotel set on a private ranch here on the Navajo American Indian Reservation. Our ranch is 12 Miles South of Page, AZ on the HWY 89.

  • For guest safety, experience, and enjoyment, our check-in is from 2 pm til 6 pm Arizona MST. Please plan to arrive early during the daylight hours to fully experience our ranch. Also, note we require guests to arrive during daylight hours to get settled in and oriented (NO LATER Than 6PM Arizona time). Winter months the sun sets much earlier. We are on Arizona time, Mountain Standard Time - MST. We DO NOT observe Daylight Savings). To avoid any time zone confusion please refer to the World Clock - Page, AZ.

  • Yes. Guests are free to come and go. We simply ask that upon return, other guests on-site be considered.

  • No. Due to Navajo cultural beliefs, and the fact that we are a working sheep ranch, we do not allow outside animals of any kind.

  • Aside from domestic animals here on site, it is possible to see lizards, snakes, mice, chipmunks, desert jackrabbits, coyotes, bobcats, foxes, spiders, etc. The chance of a guest encountering one of these is highly unlikely, though not impossible. Please do not interact with the wild animals.

  • Our ranch is ideally located near all places of interest - Antelope Canyon, Lake Powell, the Grand Canyon (both rims), Horseshoe Bend, Marble Canyon, Lees Ferry, and the Colorado River.

    We are also an excellent base camp for Monument Valley, Navajo National Monument, Bryce, and Zion.

    5 Minutes drive from Horseshoe Bend, 15 Minutes from Page, AZ, 15 Minutes drive from Lake Powell, 20 Minutes drive from Antelope Canyon, 40 Minutes drive from the Colorado River, 2 Hrs drive from North and South Rim of the Grand Canyon, 2 Hrs drive from Flagstaff, AZ, 2 1/2 Hrs drive from Monument Valley, drive 4 Hrs From Phoenix, AZ, and 4 Hrs drive from Las Vegas.

  • Shash Diné is committed to providing you with an experience. In this time, we fully expect travelers to have travel insurance, and with that stated, all bookings are nonrefundable.


  • We are fully off-grid - no electricity, no wifi. We provide solar lights, LED lights, and candle lanterns.

  • No. It is not needed. Shash Dine is set at elevation 5500’ in the medium to high desert. We experience warm, sun-filled days. However, nights cool significantly.

  • Appropriate clothing for the environment and climate at the time of year of your visit - clothing layers, closed toed shoes, hats, sunglasses, sunscreen. Have plenty of drinking water - cases or gallons with you. Mobile chargers for your devices are highly recommended.

  • Both HOGANS- hooghan 1 (earth and log) and the hooghan 2 (octagonal), as well as the KYOOB, are outfitted with wood-burning stoves. We supply all wood.

  • Yes. We welcome well-behaved children of all ages. Persons under 18 years of age must be supervised and accompanied here at the ranch at all times.

  • The toilets are a modern interpretation of an outhouse - tanks, solar lights, cleaned and sanitized daily, well maintained and stocked. The shower house is a two-stall completely off-grid, hot water on-demand shower. Cleaned and sanitized daily. ***Please keep showering to 5 minutes or less. Amenities of shampoo, soap, toothpaste and toothbrush, sanitary wipes, and full body wipes, towels, etc., will be provided in your accommodation. ***Please note showers are shut during times of freezing temperatures. We will recommend a convenient alternative at that time.

  • Guests have the option of enjoying a meal prepared and delivered to the ranch by Chef Anna, a known local who specializes in Navajo Tacos. Or dining in town at one of the restaurants. Currently, we provide a “hiker’s breakfast each morning to the glamp in its entirety - Coffee, Navajo Tea, Juice, Fresh Fruit, Breakfast Bars, and Yogurt. All eating is done at the large communal fire pit/shade structure. **For health and safety reasons, we do not allow food inside your tents. We ask that you keep all food in a locked vehicle.

  • Yes, there is a very large shared fire pit with ample seating. We supply all wood, fire starters, and matches. Weather and fire conditions dependent guests may enjoy a fire under a star field free from light pollution. There is no ability to cook here and it is disallowed. Smore’s are of course encouraged.

  • Yes. All common sense guidelines to preserve the ranch and your enjoyment. 1) Please be respectful and considerate of the Navajo People, Land, and Culture. Also, please be courteous to other guests. 2) Only walk on roads/paths. We are trying to preserve the desert flora. 3) Limit speed on the ranch. (5 MPH MAX). 4) No cooking or eating inside the accommodations. For health and safety reasons, we do not allow food inside the accommodations. We ask that you keep all food sealed in a locked vehicle. 5) No wearing shoes in the tents, wagons, kyoob, and shower. Flip flops or shower shoes are acceptable in the shower 6) No smoking, vaping, or alcohol anywhere on our property. (Alcohol Is Illegal On Navajo) 7) Please clean up after yourself in the accommodations, bathrooms, shower, and fire pit areas. 8) Do not leave outdoor fires unattended. Fully extinguish when done. 9) Do not go near or enter into other accommodations. 10) Do not take blankets, bedding, furniture, etc., outside of the accommodation.

  • Yes. Shash Dine has a Fantasy Gifts POP UP Shop located at the HUB Visitor’s Center in the town of Page. (48 S Lake Powell Blvd)
